So excited about my new group, Gold Coast International Club! gold_coast_international_club

Those who know me well will know that I had a group called English in Toulouse (France) that ran for 10 years and, at its peak, had 3,000 members. Expats and travellers met weekly for drinks and conversation, and we often did wine tasting events, hiking, walking tours, dinners, and language exchanges. It’s how I made so many wonderful friends, and even today and seven years since the group ended (because I moved to Paris and then Andorra), people in Toulouse still recognise me and remember English in Toulouse.

Now that I’m back in Australia after 22 years in Europe, I know exactly what’s missing from my life! This kind of dynamic group of international people! So, I’ve started a group. 😊

Can I get a 'Hawwww Yeahhhh!! Who would have thought that creating a MeetUp group 20 weeks ago, at one of the most vulnerable times in my life, would lead to a celebration of 600 members?! I have had the honour to host over 40 online and in-person events with thefriendlessfriendsclub and have had the most amazing and insightful conversations with others who struggle with social anxiety. With members joining us from all over the world, I am so thankful for the community that has been created and the unlimited support and acceptance that has been shown to all of our members. Cannot wait to see where 2023 takes us!
